I recently became aware of a report by Lead Safe Mama LLC alleging that one sample of Revitin Prebiotic Toothpaste (fluoride-free, citrus flavor) tested positive for heavy metal contaminants, including lead. As part of my commitment to patient safety and accurate public health communication, I am seeking to better understand the testing performed by your laboratory. If possible, I would appreciate clarification on the following points: 1. What specific analytical method(s) were used (e.g., ICP-MS, XRF)? 2. What was the limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) for the analysis? 3. How many toothpaste samples were tested, and were they from a single batch or multiple lots? 4. What quality control measures (calibration standards, blanks, duplicates) were implemented to ensure accuracy and reproducibility? 5. Has your lab conducted or do you plan to conduct any replicate or confirmatory testing on additional samples? My intent is not to challenge your work, but to gather accurate, technical details that will help me advise my patients and present this information responsibly. Understanding your methodology and scope will also allow me to compare your results with any data Revitin may provide regarding their own internal or third-party testing. Dear Purity Laboratories Team, I am reaching out with a final follow-up regarding my prior inquiries, for which I have yet to receive a response. I want to express my disappointment, as I had expected timely professional correspondence given the nature of the questions and your role as an independent testing laboratory. The information I requested is critical—not only for my own understanding, but for the clinicians, colleagues, and patients who rely on laboratory data to make informed, health-conscious decisions. Independent labs play a vital role in upholding scientific integrity, transparency, and public trust. My intent has been to better understand your testing protocols, analytical methods, and interpretation standards so that any references to your data can be communicated responsibly and accurately in clinical and educational settings. Please consider this a formal request for response within 7 calendar days.
