Email to Dr. Gerry Curatola Regarding Lead Safe Mama’s Revitin Toothpaste Claims

October 6, 2025

In light of recent concerns raised by Lead Safe Mama about alleged heavy metal contamination in Revitin Prebiotic Toothpaste, I reached out to Dr. Gerry Curatola, the founder and formulator of Revitin, for clarification.

Dr. Curatola and I go back many years — to my early days practicing “bioregulatory dentistry” together in Rhode Island. He has long been a pioneer in the field of biological and integrative oral health, and his work on the oral microbiome has influenced countless practitioners, myself included.

Below is my email to Dr. Curatola, followed by the official Revitin Statement, which I have not been able to locate on Revitin’s website as of 10/5/25.

Hello Gerry – Question about Revitin

Dear Gerry,

It’s been such a long time since we last corresponded — it feels like an eternity since our days practicing “bioregulatory” dentistry together in Rhode Island. Are you still at the BioMed Center? I hope you and your family have been doing very well.

The reason for my note is that I was recently approached by a concerned mother asking about the safety of Revitin, specifically regarding recent lead-related and mercury concerns circulating online. She follows a social media advocate for lead-free products and wanted my opinion on the matter. I was admittedly surprised by her question and told her I would take the time to research it thoroughly.

As you know, I’ve been a strong proponent of supporting the oral microbiome, and Revitin has consistently been at the top of my list for patient recommendations. My entire family uses it as well — we genuinely love the product.

Could you share any insight or clarification on the current situation? I’d like to be able to communicate clearly and responsibly with my patients and colleagues who trust me for guidance on safe, effective, and biologically sound products.

P.S. If you ever find yourself in Omaha, please reach out — I’d love to reconnect and catch up in person.

Warm regards,

Email Received Back with the official Revitin Statement:

At Revitin Life Sciences, your safety and trust come first.

Every batch of Revitin is independently tested for purity, including full heavy metal panels, by an accredited third-party laboratory. Our most recent results (March 2025) confirmed that Revitin meets or exceeds all U.S. and international safety standards — including strict limits for lead and other trace elements.

Because we use natural, nutrient-rich ingredients from the earth — not synthetic chemicals — trace minerals can occur naturally at extremely low levels, just as they do in food. These are well below established safety thresholds.

We remain committed to complete transparency, rigorous quality control, and sourcing only the cleanest, most biologically compatible ingredients to support a healthy oral microbiome and a healthier you.

Summary

Dr. Curatola’s response reinforces Revitin’s position that all current independent laboratory tests show heavy metal levels far below regulatory thresholds and that their ingredient sourcing and testing procedures remain rigorous and transparent.

This correspondence will remain publicly available as part of MiBöca Dentistry’s commitment to objective, evidence-based communication and open dialogue around the safety and integrity of the products our patients use every day.
