Medical Mandates Are Not the MiBöca Way

January 28, 2022

We humbly request that you take some time to read through this entire blog post for perspective on our decision to prioritize medical freedom, constitutional rights, and patient autonomy over tyranny.  It has been apparent and quite honestly appalling to witness the extreme over-reach of the government and un-elected officials.  Our priority is our patients’ health and safety, and we take these matters very seriously.

Many of you may be aware that some companies, employers, and government agencies are practicing medical discrimination, by mandating the use of medical devices (masks) or pharmaceuticals (EUA Therapeutics).  These blanket mandates ignore the fact that each individual has a unique physiology.  They ignore the fact that every person has the right to decide which medical devices or drugs they choose to use.  They ignore the fact that privacy and free markets are the bedrock of a healthy and prosperous society.

Our Statements:

  1. MiBöca Dentistry, as an employer and a privately owned dental office, will never mandate that our employees or patients receive any medical treatment. We stand by medical freedom, and we respect the patient-doctor relationship, informed consent, and patient autonomy.
  1. MiBöca Dentistry will not mandate or require the use of cloth or surgical masks while inside our facilities. If you choose to wear a mask because it makes you feel safer, we will support you in this decision.

MiBöca Dentistry has protocols in place for high-risk individuals. If you need dental treatment, but feel that you are at high risk for serious disease, we have special accommodations for you.  These accommodations are evidence-based for the mitigation of viral transmission.

Our protocol is listed below and an additional service fee will apply.¹

Teledentistry Service:

Speak with a licensed dentist from the comfort of your home, and get advice and recommendations. If an appointment is needed for dental treatment we will reserve a day and time specifically for you.

HRP Day (High-risk Patient Day):

We will reserve one day per month, and expand as needed for high risk patients needing to be seen for dental treatment.  There is a fee covering the additional PPE, equipment, opportunity cost, and extensive precautions. Please note that any dental services provided will be in addition to the aforementioned fees and will be due at the time of service. This includes but is not limited to exams, radiographs, tests, and dental procedures.

The following measures will be taken on our HRP Day:

Minimal Staff: 1 Doctor, 1 Dental Assistant

  • One patient in the office at a time.
  • High level personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Respirator: This is a positive pressure full-face mask, which supplies fresh air from an outside source to the providers using compressed air and a filter system.
  • Surgical gown
  • Head covering
  • Eye protection
  • Rubber Dam (if possible): This minimizes the risk of aerosolizing the patient’s saliva and potential pathogens.
  • High Powered Aerosol vacuum: In addition to a rubber dam there will be a high powered aerosol vacuum, which pulls the contaminated air to the outside of the building.
  • Highest standards of sterilization and disinfection of instruments and surfaces.
  •  Contact free payment

We are committed to respecting your rights as individuals and following evidence-based protocols. MiBöca Dentistry stands firmly on the principles of freedom and we will continue to monitor public health threats.  We are grateful for your trust in us, and we hope to be a vibrant light in our community for many decades to come.

¹ Please note that we reserve the right to refrain from providing services to any individual for any reason, especially if you are severely medically compromised.
